Breaking News: Senate Advances Small Business Relief Package

On Tuesday April 21, 2020, the Senate approved by voice vote the Paycheck Protection and Healthcare Enhancement Act. This new $484 billion package will help small businesses struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding legislation now moves to the House of Representatives, where it will be approved later this week and sent to the president’s desk for signature.

The package includes $310 billion in additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, which ran out of money last week, $60 billion in loans and grants for economic disaster assistance, $75 billion for hospitals, and $25 billion for coronavirus testing.
